Successful First Eighteen Months!
Hi, it's been eighteen months since we launched Cornwall DMC. I thought I'd update you as to where we're at now.
Wedding Planning
Wow, what a season. I've been lucky enough to be involved with eleven weddings this summer. I love doing weddings, there are so intense, you get to be involved with a couples special day. I assist couples with their plans to ensure that the whole day goes without a hitch. I'm looking forward to lots of weddings again in 2010.
Vintage China & Accessory Hire
I was contacted back in June to locate a Vintage China Hire company, the nearest was in Devon! So in July I launched our beautiful range of china, lace and hand embroidered table cloths. We have attending some great events and have worked closely with the Kneehigh Theatre too. The weddings we attended ranged from just cake stands to a full vintage themed wedding for 75 guests. Passport to Export
In March Tui Nordic, the parent company of Thompson contact us to put together a 'Cross Over Cornwall Tour'. This involved setting an eight day itinerary for guests coming from the 4 Nordic states of Norway, Finland, Sweden and Denmark. The seven groups will be coming for various dates in 2010. This has led to us accessing the Passport to Export initiative run by the UKTI. We will now be selling, using the Tui model, to other European Tour Operators in the summer of 2010.
Project Management
I was contacted by a local businessman who is opening a new restaurant in Truro later this month to assist with the Project Management. We are now in the later stages of completion, having already assisted with the design, branding, locating local suppliers and staff recruitment. Watch this space to find out when we are opening the restaurant.
Expertise
We have developed our own style of expertise to bring many differing people, professions and products together and can provide a complete service for you in and out of the County. Business Support Services
One of the exciting roles we are finding ourselves creating is business support for existing businesses within Cornwall. We are able to put complete itineraries for out of County potential Clients. We'll do Meet and Greet services, accommodation booking, restaurant reservations, an itinerary of events to show that Cornwall is a serious place to do business outside of London. Leaving you free to concentrate on 'selling' your business to them. We'll do everything possible during their stay, leaving you free to concentrate on what you do best.
Rewards, Team Building and Incentives
The Summer saw us taking Corporate groups for Rewards, Team Building and Incentives. We donned wet suits and yes that included me for a great adventure down at Watergate Bay. The waveski was excellent fun, riding high on some feisty waves followed by a gourmet picnic on the beach. Of course nothing but the best for our Clients!
Professional Training
I have now taken my Level 2 in Sustainable Tourism, hold a Personal Licence and am currently being assessed for an NVQ 3 in Event Management.
Courvoisier Future 500
We have been recognised as a business to 'watch'. We've been judged and accepted into the future 500, we were in The Observer Supplement on the 30th November.
